Samuel Church is a Welcoming, Caring Community of Faith.
Gathered by Grace, Nourished by the Word, Renewed by the Holy Spirit.
So strengthened, we are called to share the Good News of God’s Redeeming
Love with each other and with the world.
Where We Are Going
A community of faith fed at the Lord’s Table, nourished by the word of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are sent by Jesus Christ into the world to proclaim in deeds of justice and mercy God’s love for all people everywhere upon the earth.
SPLAT ( Samuel People Learning And Teaching )
SPLAT is a vehicle for ministry and fellowship for youth in grades 5 through 12. SPLAT is a dynamic ministry participating in mission projects, worship planning, old-fashioned fun and the famous SPLAT-A-THON (a full week of activities in early August). Since SPLAT includes many different ages, we often include activities specifically just for the older youth or just the younger youth. Announcements for events are regularly publicized in The Call or the bulletin.

“Living the Questions”
“Living the Questions” is a study/discussion curriculum that utilizes a DVD where various scholars, pastors, and teachers introduce different issues of Christian faith that facilitates stimulating and informative discussion among participants. Right now there are two on-going groups using the “Living the Questions” curriculum at Samuel Church, and a new group forming. There are 13 Sessions in the curriculum that address issues of faith such as: Does a story in the bible have to be historically factual to be true? Who is God and who is Jesus? How do we understand the incarnation of Jesus being God in flesh? What power does prayer have in our lives?
It is a simple structure, and yet there have been profound encounters of faith. “Living the Questions” offers a progressive theological approach to scripture and the issues of our day. You don’t have to be an expert to enter into the conversation. No one is going to test your bible knowledge or consider your questions strange or unimportant. In fact, you might be surprised how many other people have wondered the same things. As the groups meet, individuals have also formed stronger relationship with one another.

Senior Citizens Group
We are a group of older citizens who are bound together with our mutual faith in God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have a membership of various faiths. We seek companionship and support from one another. We support projects of Christian origin. Our meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. The meetings start with a business meeting followed by a fellowship time of "Caring and Sharing." This is followed by lunch, with the holiday theme of the month and birthdays of the month being acknowledged. This is followed by various programs. We take several field trips a year. Each meeting is opened and closed with a prayer. Our main social functions are our Annual Picnic in July or August and the Annual Christmas Party in December. For more information, contact Elwood Koebel.

Samuel Pre-School
The Samuel Pre-School is a special place that encourages each child to grow and develop at his or her own pace. It emphasizes unique skills not uniformity. It fosters the development of imagination and positive self-esteem. It gives children the kind of positive start they need so they can grow and "live happily ever after." The program offers half-day experiences two to three days a week for children two and half to five years of age. Through play, nurturing, and caring the program develops reading skills, social skills, and readiness for school. Contact the Director, Sally Jerina, for more information.
